So far this Top freezer has operated great. For a small refrigerator allow the owner a lot of space for drinks, wine and other goods.

This unit is smaller than its description on Home Depot™™s website. Its poor construction and lack of any real solutions will quickly become a headache.
The freezer lines will freeze up and cause the fridge to heat up and the freezer to over freezes. If you miss this it will be catastrophic because eventually the hot fridge will defrost the freezer and everything in it will be ruined.
The cost for the unit, the delivery and setup and then the loss of food will be expensive. More expensive than just buying another refrigerator model or anything other than a whirlpool.
Believe the bad reviews. This unit is a money pit. All Whirlpool Customer Service offers are their curated comments that they regret to hear your issues.
They send you the stupidest messages with no actual steps to fix because they can™™t. They will tell you to unplug it and let it defrost. The problem just gets worse the more you do that and you have to do it more frequently.
While it defrosts, your food is out of your fridge on ice or just spoiling if you don™™t have anywhere to put it to cool or freeze.
This is a junk item and they know it but still sell it and it isn™™t cheap. This should be on recall and they should junk item, because you will eventually.

I am livid that I bought this trash appliance. It over freezes and the fridge under cools because rhe lines get blocked and freeze up.
You will get standard corporate communication legalese about how sorry they are you™™re having this problem and then they suggest you try contacting customer service.
All a complete waste of time. They know it is a defective piece of junk and they sell it anyway. Corporations don™™t care if your food spoils.
As expensive as food is, they just give the song and dance to DEFROST it. They don™™t offer a refund because anyone who bought it would take them up on it.
This unit is not worth the cost, hassle or Whirlpool name, which is now synonymous with garbage design and construction.

Do NOT buy this trash unit. There is an issue with the cooling/freezing system. I bought this for my garage to have a backup freezer for my bulk meats and beverages.
When I first bought it, I didn™™t know this was an issue until my fridge went warm and I lost my eggs and milk. I was aware then to defrost it often so I did.
This time, after I had done a defrost, it froze up again but this time worse. It took over 24 hours for it to defrost. The worst part is I didn™™t realize it right away. I lost more food and perishable beverages this time. I am furious. Even with an extended warranty, they will do nothing but send you the sad directions to unplug it and let it defrost.
In 2026, we are defrosting refrigerators because they are junk and poorly designed. This is a discounted unit for a reason. DO NOT BUY it. You will regret it.

I bought two of these for my cabins. My experience mirrors all the other lousy reviews. Both require constant defrosting to avoid puddles of water melting from the freezer into the fridge.

I bought this reference to replace the refrigerator in my motorhome and I am very happy to report that it exceeded my expectations. It was dimensionally very close to the size of the old propane/electric refrigerator that used to be in the motorhome. The best part is, it hold the temperature to 36 degrees! The old refrigerator could not handle loading it up with groceries. It, at best, would only bring them down to 46 degrees! The manufacturer advised not putting too many groceries in it! Not acceptable. This refrigerator holds more in the same space to begin with, and holds them at a temperature that will allow me to keep milk for more than four days without have it get all clumpy and have to throw it out. I would buy it again over the old dual source refrigerator. Besides. I have a generator and 110 converter if I™™m traveling to keep it running.

Ordered in January from Home Depot, did not arrive until July. Fortunately, we were gone from May to September, but it was 4 months of living out of 4 small fridges. Not happy. And this fridge is the perfect fit for replacing the absorption fridge in our 5th-wheel camper that died. All in all, it is perfect now that it's installed. What is really frustrating is the plastic protection film that is underneath some components, it just tears off unevenly and looks bad. I'll get a knife to take it off better, but that should not be the case.

Bought this refrigerator as we have downsized our home and needed the space in the kitchen for other things as the refrigerator that was here was large and bulky. The refrigerator is a great size and perfect for 2 people. Working well and much quieter than the previous one. Ice maker is working well too.

The freezer frosts up inside and freezes the vent hole between freezer box and refrigerator. Totally prevents the refrigerator working. We have to unplug it for two days to thaw out before starting all over again. It only began this after the first year. Makes no difference if it™™s summer or winter. Any advice??

The door seal fits poorly and leaks. The refrigerator acts like a dehumidifier and keeps forming puddles of water inside. I have tried to decompress the seal where it doesn™™t meet the body of the refrigerator with some success. But it still leaks.
I need a new door as the seal is incorporated into the metal of the door and cannot be replaced

I'm having similar issues to other people, and they started after only a few months. The freezer keeps freezing over and making the refrigerator below not cold enough. I've wasted a lot more money than the refrigerator is worth due to all the ruined food. Called service repair and they haven't been able to fix it after 4 appointments.

I purchased this fridge 4 months ago and have already had to have a technician come out and tell me that the compressor, evaporator and drier have to be replaced . I™™m not very pleased with Whirlpool , because I don™™t know why they didn™™t just replace the unit.

The refrigerator was installed into our RV by our RV Service Center and on our first trip, the freezer failed. We took it back to the RV Center, and they said we had to apply for warranty service through Whirlpool. Not too happy with the RV Service Center for making us apply when the RV Service Center when they were the ones that installed this unit. We had to request a Whirlpool Service Rep to go out to our RV Service Center. We have to wait until January 29th for a Rep to go to the Service Center to examine the refrigerator. Hopefully be yje end of February we should have this resolved!

I ordered this fridge and I had to be out of country for a number of months. My daughter came to have the fridge installed/connected. When I returned home, I found that the freezer door did not stay closed and used duct tape to keep it closed. Also, the top left corner was exposed and had some cover missing.

I already had a refrigerator exactly like this. My appliance insurance required I get the same one. The last one didn't last three years before it was dripping water from the freezer to the fridge. Not only do I not recommend Whirlpool fridges, but I definitely don't recommend this one. The only reason I got it again was so I didn't have to pay for a new one. For the three years it was working, it was cool. I Just had to use a takeout dish to catch the drip.

The first one delivered by a local retailer frosted up like someone shoveled some snow into the freezer and the fridge didn't get cold. They sent a tech out. He said it was because the fridge door wasn't sealing along the bottom. They ordered a new fridge and delivered about 10 days later. Guess what! Same condition on the second one. I told them to come get it and refund my money

We bought this fridge from Costco back in Oct 2023. It's working fine so far. There was one problem water used to accumulate in the bottom of the refrigerator. We opened up a service call, and the technician told us that the heating coil needed to be fixed. It has been working fine since then. I bought this fridge from Costco in October 2023. It's been working fine so far, but we did have one issue with water accumulating in the bottom of the fridge. We called for service, and the technician identified that the heating coil needed to be fixed. Ever since it was repaired, the fridge has been working perfectly.

The short review is that the unit works very well, but I had to do a lot of work to make it work correctly.
The Home Depot delivered the refrigerator on time. I changed the direction of the door opening, from left side hinge to right side which was very easy and fool proof.
However, when the hinge side was changed to the left, the gasket had a gap of 1/4" on the right side of the unit. Looking closely, the gasket was compressed too much on the right side, and would not seal on the body of the refrigerator.
I called Whirlpool (numerous times), sent them pictures, and after conferring with service people, they said it was "no good." I explained the gasket was compressed more on one side than the other and could the gasket be expanded, maybe with heat? No, I should call the Home Depot and return it.
Called the Home Depot, and the first question was, "did you change the hinge side yourself"?
I said I did, and got put on hold, and after 40 minutes, was disconnected. I decided to try to solve the problem myself.
Un-compressing the gasket was very simple- I took the door off, put it in the sun and shortly the gasket became soft and pliable. I squeezed it on the sides, and eventually it decompressed. A little more manipulation, and the door sealed perfectly.
Now I am very happy with the refrigerator, it's very quiet, keeps everything at the right temperature, and is the right size for me. Just took some work and no help the either Whirlpool or Home Depot. My guess as to why the gasket compressed is that the units are ship with the hinge on the left side. They are wrapped with plastic so tight that it squeezes the door shut and compress the gasket on the right side.

This is literally the worst refrigerator ever. Whirlpool already replaced it once. Both the fridge and freezer can™™t maintain an appropriate temperature at the same time. Either the fridge is too warm and the freezer is where it should be or the freezer is too warm and the fridge is where it should be. Waste of money.

Bought this thing less than a month ago and am sorry I did!!! The new digital temp control doesn't work. I set it colder and it just reverts to the factory setting--some time within minutes sometimes a day or so later. Called service and did the unplug for 20 minutes thing as suggested--didn't help. On the medium setting the frig is 41 F, freezer is 34 F--neither one cold enough by most standards. On the Hi setting the frig is 31 F and Freezer -10, so too cold. Not that the settings matter as as won't hold them anyway.

This refrigerator is awful, really awful. Literally from the first day I bought it, six weeks ago, it has not worked. The freezer has icicles in it and the refrigerator is warm. Switching settings has had no effect on fixing that basic problem. We have had it on the medium setting and the coldest setting. No change - icicles in the freezer, not in the least bit cold in the fridge. And only now have I read reviews, and this seems to be a problem many, many customers have had with this machine. To have this issue with an appliance straight out of the box and with so many customer complaints, you have to conclude that Whirlpool doesn't care if their appliances work or not, and further conclude that you should never buy any Whirlpool products. I certainly never will again and will advise anyone I know who is looking for kitchen appliances to look steer clear of this company and look at other brands.

They probably know that it's the only way to try and retain customers. No thanks. I want a fridge that lasts decades, not months. Does anybody make one?

We bought this smaller fridge when our VERY expensive German, technologically complicated freezer filled with water and flooded our kitchen probably due to faulty ice maker. While we waited for parts and service we realised that we needed backup. I love the extra room for dinners prepared ahead and am happily surprised by the amount of space in it.

I bought this January 4, 2023 and it has been the worst purchase of my life!! It made a lot of noise for a couple of months!!!! In the third month it started to make a racket and within weeks all of the food in the refrigerator had to be thrown out it was warm and everything was ruined including condiments. I called for service the third week of April and I am waiting on 4 parts for repair with no date in sight for receipt of them (it is now June 13/2023. The process has been so painful and I have not had a refrigerator for over 6 weeks, I am living out of coolers! Such a bad experience and I maintain that it is inhumane! What can be so wrong with a brand new refrigerator that it only lasts 2 months?
